Know our history

Daniel Colón, along with his wife, Gilda Colón, were born in the Dominican Republic and grew up watching and helping their mothers cook rich, delicious family recipes. They spent 20 years learning and appreciating the culinary arts in Mexico, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. In 2020, they decided to turn their dreams into reality and founded the Colón Bakery in Haines City, integrating South American culture and their Caribbean roots. For nearly 25 years they have taken their experiences and created inspired, fresh flavors that add a twist to tradition.

Meet Our Team

Family-owned and operated by Daniel Colón and his wife Gilda Hidalgo-Colón. This dynamic duo has been in the culinary arts for over 20 years and love combining recipes from different parts of the world to create new and exciting flavors. Melba Colón is the daughter of Daniel Colón and has an extensive administrative and managerial background and oversees the catering department.
